In 2009, I left Sweden to move to America for a year as an Au pair.
During my time in America I met people who are still some of my closest friends, and got attached and became a part of a family that was not mine. I grew roots in a country that was nothing like my own.
During shorter trips following my stay in America I quickly realised that I was craving more, spending a couple weeks in a country was not enough. I had developed an addiction to the experience and the adventure of creating a new life from scratch in an unfamiliar country.

In 2012 I packed my bags to escape the familiar and move to Australia for 6 months, 6 months turned into 2,5 years and Sydney, the love of my life.
I started school in Sydney October 2012 and I’ve never been so challenged but also received such great rewards ever.
It was a tough roller coaster with a lot of up’s and down’s but at the end of my studies was when the final reward came. I was chosen for an Internship with one of Australia’s best travel companies, Experience OZ. My internship involved no coffee making or errands running. I was to travel Australia’s East Coast to photograph and write about some of Australia’s best travel experiences, I was taking part in TV, radio and newspaper interviews on a daily basis.
I had to pinch myself several times to realise it was real. This was definitely a quick starter for me as a travel blogger and I have learnt so much from the adventure. And even though people may say I’m lucky, I’ve discovered this:

During my years abroad I have realised that I prefer quality over quantity travel. For me traveling is much more than just a country to cross off a list, it’s about finding a part of you thrive in a different country. To grow with a culture.

I created Shot of adventure out of a love for traveling, writing and a great passion for photography.This site is a way for me to share my adventures and stories and to connect with other like travelers.

Today I call New Zealand home and am loving the opportunity to explore what this country has to offer and discover how it will change me.
